Scripture: Psalm 51:1–4, 10–12, 17 (NASB)
1 Be gracious to me, God, according to Your mercy;
According to the greatness of Your compassion,
Wipe out my wrongdoings.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my guilt
And cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my wrongdoings,
And my sin is constantly before me.
4 Against You, You only, I have sinned
And done what is evil in Your sight,
So that You are justified when You speak
And blameless when You judge.
10 Create in me a clean heart, God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And sustain me with a willing spirit.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.
Devotional: A Clean Heart Before God
Psalm 51 is King David’s heartfelt prayer of repentance after his failure. It’s raw, honest, and full of humility. David doesn’t make excuses—he owns his sin and cries out for mercy, cleansing, and restoration.
At the center of this psalm is a beautiful request:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God.”
This is what God desires from each of us—not perfection, but a heart that is honest, humble, and surrendered. When we bring our brokenness to Him, He doesn’t reject us. Instead, He forgives, restores, and renews.
God’s mercy is greater than our mistakes. And when He cleanses us, He gives us a new heart and a renewed joy—not just for ourselves, but to be a testimony to others of His love.
Encouragement for Today:
Let the forgiveness and mercy of God fill your heart today—and let it overflow to those around you. Be an example of Christ’s love by showing grace, walking humbly, and offering compassion. A clean heart shines the love of Jesus more clearly than any words ever could.
Prayer:
Lord, I come to You with a humble heart. Cleanse me, renew me, and restore my joy. Help me to reflect Your mercy and love to others today. Use my life to show what Your grace can do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Now go and walk in His mercy—live with a clean heart and share Christ’s love today.

PraisingGod that he continually forgives us and loves us even when we are unlovable.
Needed this today. Thank you Lord for your forgiveness of the sins we commit against you. Thank you that you forgive reset restore Lord. Thank you!!! Move forward and be blessed!!🙏🏻💕
Trying to say the right things will never work. What is in our heart will always come out of our mouth. That’s why we ask him to make us a new one 🙂
