Scripture: Psalm 52:1, 5–8 (NASB)
1 Why do you boast in evil, you mighty man?
The faithfulness of God endures all day long.
5 But God will break you down forever;
He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent,
And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
6 The righteous will see and fear,
And they will laugh at him, saying,
7 “Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge,
But trusted in the abundance of his riches
And was strong in his evil desire.”
8 But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;
I trust in the faithfulness of God forever and ever.

Devotional: Trust in God’s Steadfast Love
Psalm 52 is a contrast between the arrogance of the wicked and the quiet confidence of the righteous. While some trust in wealth, power, or deceit, the psalmist chooses to trust in the steadfast love of God.
In verse 8, David says,
“I am like a green olive tree in the house of God.”
This image speaks of growth, peace, and lasting fruitfulness—the result of being planted in God’s presence and rooted in His love.
When you place your trust in God rather than in your own strength, you begin to thrive in ways the world can’t offer. You grow stronger in faith, richer in grace, and more radiant in love.
⸻
Encouragement for Today:
Let today be a reflection of where your trust truly lies. Be an example of Christ’s love by choosing kindness over control, humility over pride, and trust over fear. Your steady faith and quiet confidence can point someone to Jesus today.
⸻
Prayer:
Lord, I choose to trust in Your faithful love, not in my strength or circumstances. Help me to grow like a strong, rooted tree in Your presence. Let my life bear fruit that reflects Christ’s love to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Now go and stand firm in God’s love—let others see Christ through you today.

Sych a wonderful and positive truth that lifts my spirit.
